Graduate Education

For on-campus students, there are many options to incorporate biometrics into your degree plan of study. Our graduate students have undergraduate backgrounds in Technology, Science, and Engineering. Our Masters students have graduated in MS degrees at Purdue in Information Security (via CERIAS), Technology, and Computational Science and Engineering.

Biometric Technologies and Applications (IT 54500) is our gateway course into biometrics. Designed for upper level undergraduate and graduate students in any major, the course covers an introduction to biometric modalities, testing and evaluation (including design of experiments), and standards. The course is offered in the Fall online.

Biometric Performance Analysis (IT58100) is an advanced course in analyzing biometric performance. Each year, we conduct several tests and data collection, that yields a number of research projects. In this class, we start to answer more advanced questions, based on initial research from IT54500, data collections, or graduate student thesis. This course is available online.

ICT Standards (IT58100) is a weekend masters course in Information and Communication Technology standards. This one credit class provides students with an overview of information technology standards. This course is also available online.
