Follow the progress of the Fall 2010 IT54500 Biometrics Class – Week 4
We continued to look at standards and standards development this week, and spent time discussing the meanings of various words as they relate to biometrics. As a class, we reviewed the following standards, that are in various stages of development:
a) Evaluation methodology for environmental influence in biometric systems (the editor will be working in the lab for this semester from Spain)
b) Guidance for specifying performance requirements to meet security and usability needs in applications using biometrics
c) Evaluation of examiner assisted biometric applications
d) Traveller processes for biometric recognition in automated border crossing systems
e) Biometric testing and reporting – part 4: Interoperability Performance Testing
f) Biometric performance testing and reporting – part 6: Testing methodologies for operational evaluation
g) Characterization and measurement of difficulty for fingerprint databases for technology evaluation
h) Guidance for biometric enrollment
The comments developed in class have been collated, and will be submitted to INCITS M1 for the next meeting.
