There are five courses available that cover various aspects of biometric technology. The first course in the sequence is IT54500 Biometric Technology and Applications. The course is available to both on-campus and off-campus students.
An overview of the biometric classes is shown in the presentation below.
The first week covers the first two modules – the goal is to provide an introduction to concepts relating to biometrics and terminology.

Module 2, covers an introduction to Identity Management
* Recall the three different authenticators – token, secret and biometric

* Identify: biological and behavioral biometrics
* Classify: biometric modalities
* Recall: Biometric Attributes
* Define the various biometric attributes
* Classify biometric attributes into modality specific and system specific
* Define enrollment
* Define identification
* Define verification
* Identify the biometric modality being used in the case study
* Choose the appropriate technology from the case studies
* Categorize the appropriate biometric attributes from the case study
