The BSPA Lab has over 7 years of experience in biometric system testing and evaluation, including test design, approval of Institutional Review Board protocols, pilot testing, subject recruitment, test management, and reporting.

Biometric System Testing and Evaluation
The BSPA Lab has conducted over 30 tests and evaluations for leading biometrics companies. These tests include:

Performance Testing
We have a long history of conducting tests, typically in the range of 250 people or less, for leading biometric companies. Our projects have included test design and evaluation, Institutional Review Board protocol, pilot tests, subject management and recruitment, test management, and reporting.

Test design
We have a series of standard test designs that we use, or we can work collaboratively with you to design a test protocol that meets your research needs. We have completed test designs for fingerprint, face, iris, hand, voice, signature, and keystroke dynamics. Our team has expert knowledge in standard test design gained in over 7 years of testing. They contribute to M1.5 and SC37 WG5 biometric testing and performance standard committee, and contribute or (co)edit national and international biometric standards. The team also has expert knowledge in statistical methodologies as they relate to biometric testing. We can design a test without undertaking it in our labs.

Institutional Review
All our test protocols undergo review from the university’s Institutional Review Board (Human Research Protection). We will work with you to make sure that the protocol for testing is compliant.

Pilot tests
If your technology or algorithm is not ready for large scale testing, we can undertake pilot tests. These pilot tests are shorter in time, and can be used to identify any initial issues with the technology or algorithm before larger scale testing.

Subject management and recruitment
We undertake all subject management and recruiting for the test. Typically we can process 250 people through a test in 6 weeks (for a simple one visit test lasting one hour per person).

Testing
We have two separate lab facilities to test and evaluate systems. These rooms can be custom fit depending on your test needs. Over the past year, we have conducted several tests and evaluations, including 250 person fingerprint test.

Reporting
If required, we can analyze and provide results to you regarding the test.
