Biometric Usability Testing

Our experiences in traditional performance evaluations led our group to look at how humans interact with biometric systems – bringing in experience from human factors, ergonomics, and usability to better understand how people are using biometric devices. Traditional biometric testing methods are very effective, but fail to provide information about the user: how they interact with biometric devices, what errors they are making, or what the most common errors or issues are, and why users continually make the errors. Our usability testing process is highly customizable to meet the needs of your organization. Results from our group’s usability testing services provide valuable information about how biometric devices/systems are being used; including the interaction of the user and the sensor/system, feedback on designs, as well as the pairing of traditional performance evaluation metrics with usability metrics based on audio and video data to further understand design, human interaction, data capture or matching algorithm issues.
