This paper outlines work being done in the Biometric Standards, Performance, and Assurance Laboratory in the field of Biometrics and E-Authentication. It examines the work being done by the biometric community with regard to remote authentication using biometrics. Some issues being discussed include Biometric System Architectures, Biometric System Threat Model, Biometric System Security Issues, and Biometric Identifier Revocation.
